Baby steps

Pete's vital signs continued to stabilize throughout the night and as of 0500 he was stable enough to go back on dialysis.

The procedure to drain pockets of fluid from his abdomen began right after shift change this morning.  We were expecting to see just clear pockets of fluid, however once they started draining clear signs of infection became evident. This is a good sign that we are getting closer to identify and eradicating one of the causes of this infection.

Now, we are considering the best course of action to eliminate these pockets of fluid and give Pete a chance to start healing.
