Pete just came back from his surgery this morning and everything looks really good! His vitals remained stable throughout the surgery which allowed his surgeon to complete what we thought would take 2-4 more operations!! We still have to wait for signs of infection and swelling to go down before they can close Pete's abdomen, but today we moved much further down the road towards recovery then we could have hoped.
We really appreciate the excellent medical professionals that have gotten Pete this far along in his recovery and have faith that they will continue to go above and beyond until Pete is safely home. Thank you to everyone for your support and encouragement, we could not have done it without you!
Great news!
ReplyDeletethat is great news!
ReplyDeleteThats good news!!
ReplyDeleteGet well soon Pete. When can Ayla and I come see you guys?
Good to hear. WE have been praying for both of you often. The girls keep asking how Pete and Rachelle are doing. Anastazia is trying to figure out who you are and Isadora makes sure we include you in every prayer we say throughout the day. I wish I had some pictures to share, but the ones I have from our adventures together are not in digital form. Need to find them and scan them. Would like to come see you, but am thinking kids are probably not allowed, at least while in ICU.

ReplyDeleteAn answer to prayers. Knowledge is power. With this new information and treatment, I am sure Pete is on the road to recover, though a long road.
ReplyDeleteRachelle,
ReplyDeleteThis is Mariah's mom from San Diego. Mariah has been keeping me posted on Pete's journey back to health. I remember how wonderful you were when you picked me up from the airport and took me to the boat so Mariah could stay with Bron when he was in the hospital and so sick.Your kindness will never be forgotten. Sending best wishes for a full and speedy recovery for Pete and strength for you as you continue on this journey.
