Surgery

So as I write this, we are prepping him for surgery. Pete spiked a fever last night and had elevated WBC count. Also some more respiratory issues and they had to bump his vent settings back to 100%. The plan is to do a laproscopic abdominal wash and if they run into problems they will open him up. Vitals are stable and everyone is optimistic . After the surgery, they are going to start the tube feedings.
I have been bedside since this morning and playing the ipod for him and talking with him. I even found some sound files of seagulls crying and been playing that for him. If you know Pete, you will know that the cry of a seagull usually has him up and in shooting mode. ;) I am looking for a soundfile with halyards slapping on masts also. God knows he hates that sound. Maybe it will irritate him enough to raise his BP and get him off the Levophed.
Rachelle is strong and having a better day.
We will update the blog as soon as we can. Important day for him. For us. Thanks for your prayers, thoughts, support and well wishing. It helps.
I am out of words.

Looking for something clever to put here,
Marcus

  4. Thanks for the continued updates Marcus. I know Jim and I have been pretty out of touch lately taking care of our little brood, but we are thinking of Pete constantly now. He is so lucky to be surrouned by so much love.
