Overall, a tough, but good day!

Today brought home to me the overwhelming responsibility the choices I am making and their effect on Pete's long-term health. After a lengthy discussion with his medical team we decided that the only option that made sense was to surgically implant a couple more temporary drains to remove the excess fluid in his abdomen.  The surgical team went to lengths to ensure that the procedure was not too difficult for Pete, given his previous experiences.  At some point in the future he may need another, more invasive operation to ensure all the excess fluid is removed, but at this time, this was the most he could handle.

As of this evening, two drains were successfully placed and most of the excess fluid was drained from Pete's abdomen.  His vitals are stable and even slightly improved since the procedure. The next 24 hours will tell if we are on the right path or if we need to keep looking! As ever, thank you for your continued prayers and support.
